Miss Laura King – Principle

A.R.A.D. R.T.S. (Classical, Pointe, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Tap & Musical Theatre)

Laura started dancing in Inverell at the age of 3.  At the age of 16 Laura moved to Brisbane to further her training and performance skills at Brisbane Dance Centre (ADPI).

After graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Arts (Dance/Performance) she made the move to Sydney to further her studies at Brent Street and graduated with a Certificate IV in Dance.

While teaching and attending classes at Janice Breen (Coogee) and Ecole Ballet Studios (Lindfield) she studied with the Royal Academy of Dance attaining her Full Teaching Certificate in RAD (Royal Academy of Dancing).  Laura moved back to teach in Inverell in January 2004.

Craze Dance Academy was opened in January 2005 in premises in Rivers Street. Craze has since moved to specially equipped studios in the Country Fair Complex in Sweeney Street, Inverell.

Laura has choreographed both group and solo items for Carols in the Domain (Sydney), North West Dance Festival and State Dance Festival (Dept of Education), CAPERS  (Dept of Education), and performed in and choreographed for local fundraising events.

Laura continues to update her skills by attending regular seminars and workshops.

Rebecca Ray

R.T.S. (Classical, Modern/Contemporary & Jazz)

Becky started dancing at the age of 5 and joined Craze Dance Academy as a student in 2004.  She has since studied her higher grades with the Royal Academy of Dance and is a qualified registered RAD teacher. Becky continues to update her skills by attending regular seminars and workshops.

Andrea McLennan teaches ballet in all grades.  Andrea took dance classes in her youth and never lost the love.  She loves Classical and enjoys passing on her knowledge.

Stephanie Graham is teaching Jazz and Modern/Contemporary, Miss Steph moved from Guyra to take up a position in childcare and previously studied dance with Australian Dance Enterprises.  Steph covers Jazz and Contemporary but is more than capable to fill in teaching Classical when needed.

Maddy Wilson after being an assistant teacher for a number of years while studing her year 11 & 12, Maddy will now be our fill in teacher for Miss Laura in all style of dance.  She excells in Jazz and Hip Hop and has taught this disapline for the past 2 years.

Jade Hills has danced with Craze since 4 years of age and has completed all Ballet Exams and has a passion for Hip Hop.  Jade teaches Senior Hip Hop and Tap. 

Bella Youman has danced since a young age completing her RAD Ballet exams.  Bella is a beautiful young teacher who the young students look up to and respect.  

Chloe Hamel is stitting her Grade 7 Ballet exam in 2019 and teaches Junior Hip Hop and is a very capable young teacher.

Emi Campbell someone we all have come to know and love. Emi helps with warmups and corner work in the junior Jazz classes.

Laura and her group of teachers, frequently come to our country area to pass on there knowledge and passion for dance.  We appreciate them and their committment to Country areas.


Peter Furness (Contemporary, Ballet & Jazz) 

Peter was born in Dubbo, Australia, and graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1994 with a Bachelor of Dance degree.  Since then he has worked with Dance North, Expressions Dance Company, Leigh Warren and Dancers and joined New Adventures in 2004.  Peter has also collaborated and performed with a number of independent projects and individual artists in Australia.  During his career he has worked with many of Australia’s noted choreographers and directors, collaborating on new works and performing a repertoire created by international artists.  He has toured widely around Australia and internationally with Australian companies.  A highlight of his career was the collaboration between Leigh Warren and William Forsythe entitled Quick Brown Fox, for which Peter was awarded a Green Room Award for Best Male Performer (Dance) in 2003.  Peter has held several workshops at Craze Dance Academy of the past 3 years.


Philippa Wiedemann (Jazz/Hip Hop, Contemporary)

Philippa has been dancing from a young age.  She joined Craze Dance Academy in 2004 and went on to study at the Queensland University of Technology graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance).  Since graduating Philippa has travelled working on Cruise ships.  She returned to Inverell with enthusiasm and is excited and taught Jazz and Contemporary with us in 2009 and 2010.  Philippa is now studying High School teaching at Toowoomba University, majoring in Dance Education.  She will continue to be a regular guest teacher with us.

Past Student Teachers

Gabrielle Potbury (Classical) Gabi has danced with Craze Dance Academy since 2004.  She had performed in all productions and has studied and attainded her Intermediate Level with the Royal Academy of Dance.  Gabi is now studying primary school teaching at University of New England, Armidale.

Daisy Sonter-Kelso (Classical, Modern/Contemporary & Jazz) Daisy has danced from a young age.  She also joined Craze Dance Academy as a student in 2004.  Daisy has performed in all productions to date and is currently studying her Advanced 2 with the Royal Academy of Dance.  Daisy has performed both Solos and Group routines in Dance Eisteddfods around the country, at North West Dance Festival, the State Dance Festival, CAPERS and School Spectacular.  Her passion is Classical and Contemporary.  Daisy is continuing her dance training with RAW Dance in Brisbane in 2010.

Hollie Bloch (Classical, Modern/Contemporary & Jazz) Hollie has been a student at Craze Dance Academy since 2004 and has also performed in all major end of year productions.  Hollie has attained her higher grades with the Royal Academy of Dance and is passionate about Contemporary and Jazz.  She has performed in school productions, at North West Dance Festival, the State Dance Festival, CAPERS and School Spectacular.  Hollie is continuring her dance training with RAW Dance in Brisbane in 2010.

Vanessa Hunt (Tap) Vanessa has been a student at Craze Dance Academy since 2005.  She has attained up to and including her Intermediate Ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance.  Vanessa has been teaching tap with us for the past two (2) years.

Millie Cracknell has been dancing with Craze Dance Academy since 2004.  She has performed in all our Annual Concerts, more recently playing the part of the Pied Piper in “Bedtime Stories” (2012).  Millie has represented Craze Dance Academy at Eisteddfods across the New England.  She has also represented Ross Hill Public School and Inverell High School at Regional and State level.  In 2013 she successfully auditioned for State Dance Festival Ensemble and for School Spectacular.  She is very confident and is now teaching Hip Hop for us.  Millie is now studing at Brent St in Sydney.

Rachel Hinton has returned to the Craze family and has taken on the role of teacher with energy and excitement.  We are looking forward to having Rachel with us for some time to come while she continues her studies at Uni.  Rachel has been teaching Classical, Modern/Contemporary and Jazz. 

Brittany Hawkins has been teaching Modern/Contemporary and Jazz and has been our fill in teacher for Classical.

Casey Lea has taken over teaching the tap.  Casey grew up in the Lismore/Casino area and studied most disaplines in dance.  Casey loves her Tap and this can be seen in the routines she has taught this year. 

Makayla Hobday has taken to teaching the high energy Junior Hip Hop with confidence.

Olivia Fowke will be taking on assisting and teaching some of the junior Classical classes over the next 12 months.
